The Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association (NBA) are expected to appoint Frank Vogel as their new head coach.안전놀이터
ESPN quoted a source on the 3rd (Korean time) and reported, “The Phoenix club has selected Vogel as the next head coach. The contract is currently in the final stages.” Reports suggest that Phoenix will sign a five-year deal with manager Vogel.
Phoenix finished fourth in the Western Conference this year and advanced to the playoffs, but was eliminated in the semifinals by the Denver Nuggets with a record of 2 wins and 4 losses in the series. Afterwards, Phoenix fired manager Monty Williams and looked for a replacement.
ESPN explained, “Phoenix selected Vogel as the final manager after competing with former Philadelphia 76ers coach Doc Rivers and Phoenix head coach Kevin Young.”
Coach Vogel was recognized for his leadership by taking the helm of the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2019-20 season and leading the team to win the regular league and finals.
However, his performance declined over the next two seasons, and he eventually left the team after the 2021-22 season.
If Vogel takes over the Phoenix helm, it will be the fourth team to be coached. Vogel previously managed the Lakers, Orlando Magic and Indiana Pacers.
Meanwhile, manager Williams, who left Phoenix, took the helm of the Detroit Pistons, a member of the Eastern Conference, who finished at the bottom of the league this season.
