“I feel like I’m doing it for two seasons in a row”

SSG Landers Kim Gwang-hyun is picking up the pace for the upcoming WBC (World Baseball Classic).

On the 9th (local time), Kwang-Hyun Kim had his fourth bullpen pitching at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Florida, USA. Kim Gwang-hyun threw a total of 61 pitches, including a fastball, curveball, slider, and changeup.

On this day, he pitched with a major league practice ball instead of the WBC official ball. Kim Gwang-hyun said, “I received 4 official balls, but (Choi) Jung gave me one because he wanted to touch it, and I use three. I had no choice but to throw it today because there was a major league ball, and the feeling seems to be similar.”

The WBC national team, led by coach Lee Kang-cheol, will gather in Arizona, USA from the 14th to start full-scale training. After throwing 70 pitches in bullpen pitching the day after tomorrow, Kim Gwang-hyun plans to digest live pitching right before the national team move. Kim Gwang-hyun predicted, “After he pitches live, he will be able to play in about a week and a half.” 온라인카지노

It was on November 8 last year that the Korean Series ended with Kim Gwang-hyun’s last out. Afterwards, Kim Gwang-hyeon, who digested various events, was selected for the WBC national team and built up his body by holding a mini-camp in Okinawa, Japan with his teammates in January of this year.

He didn’t overdo it. Kim Gwang-hyun said, “If you think you need to build up your body quickly or increase the intensity, you may get injured. There’s nothing worse than that.” Instead, he takes step-by-step steps and adapts his form to the competition.

The WBC national team will play the first match of the first round against Australia on the 9th of next month. At the time when Kim Gwang-hyun just signed a contract with the team last year, this year he has to throw the ball with all his might. It feels like there is no off-season. Kim Gwang-hyun laughs, saying, “It seems like two seasons in a row.” This is the fate of the ace of the winning team representing the country.
