Major League Baseball released its 2023 All-MLB team projections on its official social media accounts on Nov. 16. It consists of first and second teams.
Kim’s name was nowhere to be found. For second basemen, Luis Araez was named to the first team and Marcus Seamans to the second team.
Of course, this list is not based on FWAR, which is the leading metric for overall performance. However, Kim’s overall numbers are clearly higher than Araez’s on the First Team.
Through the last 15 days of the season, Kim is batting .283 with 15 home runs, 42 RBIs, 65 runs scored, 109 hits, a .377 OPS and an .821 slugging percentage in 114 games.
His defense is also among the best in the majors, as he has played second, third, and shortstop. He also has 27 stolen bases (6 caught).

As a result, Kim ranks 13th overall in FWAR at 4.4 and third overall in BWAR at 5.7. However, he’s not getting the recognition he deserves.
